Singer, Niniola, Loses Husband

NIGERIAN afro-house singer, Niniola Apata, has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.
The Grammy-nominated artist announced the passing of Ndika, the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music, in a series of emotional posts on her Instagram story in the early hours of Wednesday, May 20.
“God took him,” she wrote in the first post.
She added in a second post: “My husband died,” and “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years,” in a third post.
Each post has a photo with her husband.
The circumstances his death were not immediately disclosed, as she has always kept her private life away from the public and social media.
Apata, 39, rose to prominence after finishing as a top contestant on Project Fame West Africa in 2013 and has since become one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music exports.
Her 2017 single, Maradona, earned international acclaim, drawing collaborations and recognition from artists, such as DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland and Beyoncé.
