TOTALENERGIES in Nigeria has vowed to investigate a viral video of how attendants at a Total filling station in Igando area of Lagos forced customers to purchase meat pies before petrol could be sold to them.
In the viral video, a customer was heard complaining that the station insisted they must buy meat pie before petrol was sold sold to them, noting: “I don’t understand what is happening at this Total filling station.
“How on earth will I be asked to buy meat pie before I buy fuel? What sort of rubbish is this? Is this place open for meat pie or for fuel?”
Another customer added: “This Total filling station trying rubbish (sic) with the masses.”
The video has attracted harsh reactions for Nigerians, who lambasted the station, while expressing displeasure at the incident, which they saw as insensitive to the plights of Nigerians grappling with fuel scarcity.
But a staffer, while condemning the actions of the attendants, said: “We are not aware, but what you said they did is not good and against our company’s policies.
“We would love to have the video and we promise to begin a proper investigation on the matter.”
