RESIDENTS of Ago Palace Way in Lagos State have commended the Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) over improved security situation in the area.

In a statement signed by their representatives, Chief Chukwuma Igwe and Pastor Eugene Nnah, the residents said reported cases of kidnappings and other criminal acts witnessed in the area in the past had reduced drastically since the new Police boss assumed office.

They noted that the presence of Fayoade have been noticed severally at odd hours of the night with a team of policemen patrolling the nooks and crannies of the once volatile area, noting that his choice of a pragmatic DPO and other gallant officers at Ago Police Station has ensured that they slept with both eyes closed.

According to them: ” “We, representatives of residents of Ago Palace Way at Okota, are constrained to openly commend the security situation in our area since a new commissioner of Police assumed duties in Lagos State.

“We have witnessed the intimidating presence of policemen at areas formerly designated black spots and these policemen have been discharging their duties with utmost diligence and courtesy.

“We are happy to say that their presence at strategic spots in our area has ensured that we slept with both eyes closed.

“Interestingly, the outcome of peace in our area has resulted in our businesses booming till the wee hours of the night, as cases of any infraction are swiftly nipped in the bud by gallant policemen seen patrolling all the nooks and crannies of the area.

“We are, therefore, pleading with the Police boss to ensure that the trend continues as we go about our businesses without fear of molestation or attacks.”
