Rivers Assembly Rejects Fubara’s Commissioner-Nominees

Published:

THE Rivers State House of Assembly, during screening on Monday, March 9, rejected four commissioner-nominees submitted by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Those rejected were Datonye Alasia, Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams and Otonye TKD Amachree.
The Assembly said Alasia, a professor at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), was rejected due to “poor performance,” while Amachree alleged had over 11 petitions against him by members of his community over his involvement in community matters.
Deemua was rejected because she failed to present tax clearance documents, and Williams stepped down for allegedly “misleading the public about the activities of the Assembly.”
The lawmakers, however, confirmed five others, including Tonye Bellgam, Temple Nwofor, Peters Nwagor, Lekue Kenneth and Amairigha Edward Hart.
