Alleged Misappropriation: SDP Tenders Evidence Against Gabam

NATIONAL Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Sodiq Abubakar Gombe, has disclosed that the party has presented substantial documentary evidence before a Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, againmst his predecessor, Shehu Gabam, in the ongoing misappropriation case.
Gombe told journalists shortly after testified as a witness in the case, marked DCC/10/2026, presided over by Chief Magistrate Amauche Onyedium, which was on Monday, May 25, adjourned until June 17, this year, that he was confidence in the judicial process and that the party had provided relevant documents to support its claims.
According to him: “I was taken as a witness; we tendered relevant documents, among which are the report of the disciplinary committee that tried the accused.
“After that, also, it involved the letter of invitation that was sent to the accused, the result of the investigation, which they refused to honour.”
Gombe listed other evidence as documents relating to companies allegedly linked to the movement of party funds.
He insisting that Gabam remains expelled from the party, having followed due process in arriving at its disciplinary decisions, adding, however, that the Magistrate advised both parties to consider the possibility of an out-of-court settlement.
Gabam was arraigned on May 12 over allegations linked to the management of party funds during his tenure between 2022 and 2023 amid a prolonged leadership disputebetween Gombe and Gabam factions.
Gombe was ratified as national chairman of the party at its national convention in Bauchi on May 9, this year.
