APC Shifts Presidential Campaign Council Inauguration
THE All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted the date earlier announced for the inauguration of its 422-member Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) from yesterday, Monday, September 26 to Wednesday, September 28.
A statement by the Council’s Director, Media and Publicity, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday night in Abuja, said: “The APC Presidential Campaign Council wishes to inform all members nominated to serve in the various directorates to report at the campaign headquarters on Wednesday Sept. 28, 2022 at 8 a.m.
“Nominated members are expected to participate in the special prayer sessions marking the commencement of the 2023 presidential election campaigns.”
Onanuga added that there would be a peace walk immediately after the prayers, while all nominees would be issued their letters of appointment on the same day.
Congratulating members, he reminded them that their appointment was a call to serve the party with total commitment and sacrifice, noting: “It is the council’s strong belief that all members will work hard to deliver a resounding victory for our great party in the 2023 presidential election.
“We also want to use this medium to express our profound gratitude to all support groups registered with the campaign council. We are aware you have been working assiduously to promote our candidates and the party across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).”
The campaign council spokesman stated that the APC and its candidates acknowledged their hardwork, financial and human resources they had been voluntarily expended, urging them to continue their good work, as the PCC would work with them as it moved along into the campaign season, just as he encouraged other groups yet to formally register with the PCC to do so immediately for proper harmonisation.
President Muhammadu Buhari chairs the council, with the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, as Deputy Chairmen.
Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong was named as the Director General and member of the House of Representatives, Mr. James Faleke, as Secretary.
Vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, is the vice chairman of the council, while a former chairman of the party, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, is deputy Director General (Operations) and Hadiza Usman, Deputy Director General (Administration).
