PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu, on Monday, January 19, held a closed-door meeting with the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, held in the President’s office, further adds to speculation regarding Yusuf political future and its purpose and outcome, details of which remained speculative.
The governor, who arrived at the Villa about 4:10 pm, dressed in a white agbada and a red cap, allegedly plans to dump his New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The planned move has increased political tension in his state and strained the political relationship between him and his political mentor, former governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as well as their loyalists and supporters in the latest few weeks.
