*Adejobi Becomes DCP-Ops, Delta Command
THE Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), has been tipped as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
Hundeyin is expected to succeed Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), who has been redeployed to the Delta Police Command as DCP in charges of Operations.
A statement by the Force Headquarters on Wednesday, September 3, said Adejobi’s deployment was a routine administrative exercise, neither punitive nor controversial, as being speculated in the media, and “underscores the confidence of the Force leadership in his wealth of experience, professionalism and capacity to further strengthen operational strategies in the Command.”
The statement said the Inspector General of Police (IGP) commended Adejobi for his exceptional service as Force PRO, acknowledging his “professionalism, commitment and remarkable contributions to strengthening the image and communication strategies of the Nigeria Police Force.”
Egbetokun expressed confidence that he “will bring the same level of dedication and excellence to bear in his new assignment in Delta State.”
Adejobi was recently decorated with his new rank of DCP, in what the NPF said reflected its commitment to merit-based career progression and effective deployment of officers to critical areas of national security.
Hundeyin had served as spokesperson of the Lagos Police Command since March 2022 and is expected to spearhead the Force’s communications strategy.
The official handover/takeover ceremony is expected to take place at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, in the days ahead.
