THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates offered admission from 2021 to 2026 to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.
The Board stated on Monday, August 31 that the new deadline is Wednesday, September 30, against the earlier deadline of Monday, August 31, thereby giving affected candidates additional time to indicate whether they wish to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.
JAMB explained that candidates who accept their offers will be able to print their admission letters, while those who reject the offers will have their admission status reverted to “Not Admitted” on their dashboards, clarifying clarified that candidates who have secured admission during the 2026 admission exercise, but still have an earlier admission offer pending, can reject the previous offer without affecting their new admission.
It stated that candidates currently studying at another institution or in a different programme from the one attached to their previous admission may also accept the outstanding offer and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion, where applicable.
The Board warned that the September 30 deadline was final and outstanding admission offer that remains neither accepted nor rejected by the deadline will automatically be reverted to “Not Admitted,” adding: “There will be no further opportunity after the expiration of the extended deadline on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.”
It urged all affected candidates to take the necessary action before the deadline, as failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period will render the offer invalid.
