THE Delta State Police Command has disclosed how kidnappers shot a victim in the leg to teach him a lesson for not having sufficient funds in his bank account when they attempted to clear the funds, despite already withdrawing N2million (Two million naira) from the account.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe (SP), operatives had arrested three suspected kidnappers, who confessed to have collected N2million ransom from their victim before shooting him.
He said the suspects, identified as Chukwuebuka Nka, Uche Okechukwu and Somto Chukwuma, were arrested following a distress call that a young man had been kidnapped from his residence in Ogwashi-Uku, prompting operatives to track them to a bush in town, where the victim was rescued with a gunshot wound.
According to him, investigations led to the arrest of Chukwuebuka Nka and Uche Okechukwu in Anambra State, where the victim’s white Toyota Venza was also recovered, and based on their confessions, operatives raided their hideout in Agidiase village in Ogwashi-Uku and arrested the third suspect.
He added that the suspects subsequently led the operatives to their hideout, where their operational vehicle and a network jammer circuit device were also recovered.
