Kano Pillars FC, Katsina United and Sporting Lagos FC had opening day wins. Kano Pillars FC beat EFCC FC by 1-0 in the opening game on Sunday, July 2. DMD FC of Borno State lost 1-2 to Katsina United FC, while Sporting Lagos beat FC ONE Rockets 1-0, with Abeokuta Stormers and Heartland FC of Owerri settling for a goalless draw.
