Published:

HE is a man almost always in the news for the wrong reasons.

This time around, controversial Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was captured in an online viral video on Thursday, July 11, engaging in a street fight with another man a Lagos suburb.

Portable, who gained fame in December 2021 with the release of Zazoo Zeh, his hit single, featuring Olamide and Poco Lee, could be seen in the footage, wearing a yellow outfit, obstructing the movement of cars as he aggressively confronted the man in the middle of the street.

Portable, who recently returned from the United States (US) after an international tour, rebuffed all attempts by onlookers to intervene, as he charged forward towards his challenger, pushing him to the ground at a point.

A man was heard speaking Yoruba in the video background, saying: “He has wounded that boy. It is Portable, you are in trouble. We will not allow you to go. They have wounded that guy. Your life will be a mess. Look at your celebrity. A dirty celebrity.”

The man, who according to reports, was later identified as a motorcyclist, was alleged to have stolen the singer’s phone, leading to the altercation.

Since gaining fame in 2021, Portable has always been in the public eye for controversial reasons. In March this year, he got into a physical altercation with Kesari Okala, a content creator at Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos.

Not quite long ago, he was also arrested by the Lagos State Police Command, following a petition against him, for allegedly failing to pay the debt he incurred after purchasing his G-Wagon from a car dealer.

The singer was said to have bought the vehicle worth N27million, but paid only N13million and refused to remit the balance of N14 million.
