RUSSIAN President Vladimir Putin, buoyed by his expected victory in the recent election, which offered no real opposition, has deployed warships to the already volatile and militarised Red Sea.
The Russian warships officially entered the Red Sea in what is seen as a possible sea confrontation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).
The Russian Pacific Fleet made it into the Red Sea and headed towards Yemen, where American and British ships have carried out strikes on Houthis.
