Rain Forces Ugbolu-Okpanam Road Project Groundbreaking Postponement

Published:

THE Delta State Government has announced the postponement of the scheduled groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 12-kilometre Ugbolu-Okpanam road in Oshimili North Local Council, scheduled to hold on Tuesday morning, October 7.
A statement early on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads and Public Information), Charles Aniagwu, said the postponement was due to the torrential rain experienced in the area, which had made it impractical to proceed with the event as planned.
While expressing regrets to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who was expected to preside over the ceremony, and all guests and stakeholders affected by the change, the statement said a new date would be communicated to the public in due course.
Aniagwu reiterated the governor’s commitment to improving infrastructure and the living standards of Deltans through the continued implementation of the MORE Agenda, which prioritises meaningful development across the state, assuring residents that work on the project remains a top priority.
