Strike: Should Same Event Occur Again, Our Approach Will Be Exactly Same, Says PENGASSAN

THE Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN), in its reaction to criticism of its strike due to a dispute with the Dangote Refinery, which disrupted the economic of the country, by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who said the country was bigger than both Dangote and the union, stated that “should this same event occur again tomorrow, our approach will be exactly the same.”
Its National President, Festus Osifo, who said the country was equally bigger than both Dangote and the Presidency, added that PENGASSAN was committed to safeguarding the employment of its members, who were dismissed by the Dangote Refinery for becoming part of the association, assuring that this commitment will be fulfilled whenever the opportunity arises.
According to him: “Of course, the nation is bigger than PENGASSAN, the way it’s bigger than Dangote and the Presidency.
“We have a mandate to protect the jobs of our members, that we will discharge whenever the need arises.”
