Tinubu Lauds NDLEA Over Drug Seizures

Published:

PREISIDENT Bola Tinubu has commended the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and its operatives over the successful dismantling of a major drug syndicate and a multi-million dollar narcotics production network operating within in Nigeria, saying it sends a clear message that Nigeria will not yield its future to criminal networks and narco traffickers.
During the raids in Lagos and Ogun State, illicit drugs and chemicals valued at over $360million were seized and key foreign and local collaborators were arrested.
In a message to the agency, the President stated: “West Africa is increasingly becoming a major corridor in the global narcotics trade, and this poses a direct threat not just to our security, but to the future of our young people. We must confront this danger with courage, coordination, and consistency.
“I urge Nigerians to support our law enforcement agencies by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities within their communities.
“I commend the NDLEA for its professionalism, bravery, and resilience. The fight against illicit drugs is a fight for the soul, safety, and future of our nation.”
