CHAIRMAN of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has disowned a social media post claiming that he gave the Federal Government a 21-day ultimatum to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement issued by his media consultant, Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo, while describing the publication as fake and mischievous, insisted he had no connection whatsoever with Kanu’s case.
The statement stressed that Tompolo did not author the said publication, accusing unnamed individuals of fabricating the story in an attempt to tarnish Tompolo’s reputation because of his firm stance against illegal crude oil activities in the Niger Delta.
It read in parts: “These people have failed and will continue to fail, because he will not relent in his mission to completely eradicate illegal oil operations in the region.”
While reaffirming Tompolo’s loyalty to the Federal Government, Bebenimibo said the ex-militant leader was fully in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, adding: “Tompolo remains solidly behind Mr. President and reaffirms his endorsement of him for a second term.
“He will continue to work for the realisation of that goal.”
The statement urged the public to disregard the fake post, saying Tompolo remained committed to national peace, security and protection of Nigeria’s oil assets.
