NIGERIA’S Super Falcons have defeated co-host, Australia, by 3-2 in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Australia took the lead in the first minute of the added five minutes after the regular first 45 minutes through Van Egmood.
The Super Falcons responded swiftly to Australia’s goal with an equalizer through Uchenna Kanu in the last minute of the added time.
The Falcons later lead by 3-1 with Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala getting two extra goals for the Africans.
A yellow card to Barcelona striker, Oshoala, for pulling her shirt to celebrate her goal changed the play, as Australia’s pressure paid off with a goal by Kennedy within the extra 11 minutes added by the referee in the second half to reduce the goal difference.
