DELTA State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated Edith Okowa, wife of his predecessor, Ifeanyi Okowa, on her 65th birthday, commending her unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, particularly through her pet project, the 05 Initiative Foundation, which he said transformed lives through healthcare interventions and empowerment programmes.
Oborevwori specifically lauded Mrs. Okowa’s efforts in supporting persons living with sickle cell disorder by establishing sickle cell clinics in hospitals across the state and providing healthcare support and livelihood opportunities to vulnerable groups.
The governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, described Mrs. Okowa as a compassionate humanitarian, a devoted mother and a woman whose life has positively impacted countless individuals across Delta State and beyond, noting that her dedication to service and welfare of the less privileged had earned her widespread admiration and respect, and that her contributions remain enduring legacies that would continue to benefit society.
While thanking the former governor’s for her invaluable contributions to the development and wellbeing of the people, Oborevwori wished her many more years of fulfillment, happiness and impactful service.
In a related development, the governor congratulated renowned administrator, elder statesman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mike Adiotomre, on the occasion of his 88th birth anniversary.
Another statement by Ahond escribed the octogenarian and respected political leader from Ovu-Inland in Ethiope East Local Council as a distinguished public servant whose commitment to truth, integrity and service has earned him admiration across the state, especially for his outstanding contributions to public service and community development.
The statement said Adiotomre has remained a voice of wisdom and moderation, contributing immensely to peacebuilding and political stability in the state through his membership of the Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council.
“As a state, we are proud of your unwavering commitment to truth, justice and selfless service. You have continued to offer invaluable leadership and guidance to your community, Delta State and the nation at large.
Oborevwori stated that Adiotomre’s dedication to peacebuilding and exemplary contributions to political development have set him apart as a respected statesman and an accomplished administrator.
