THE Urhobo customs and traditions were on display at Isiokolo, Ethiopia East Local Council, on Wednesday, August 26, as political and business elite gather for the traditional marriage of Innocent, son of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and Tobore, daughter of businessman and Managing Director of Librod Energy Limited, Brodericks Arigbodi.
The ceremony, held at the Arigbodi family’s country home, featured traditional music, dancing and rites.
Dignitaries at the occasion included the state Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme; former governors of the state, James Ibori and Ifeanyi Okowa; Senator Ede Dafinone, Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli; Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor; Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chiedu Ebie; and member of the House of Representatives, Francis Waive.
Also present were businessmen, Victor Egukawhore; Eta Enahoro; Tunde Smooth; Johnbull Ejovi; Tony Oboroh; John Oguma, as well as members of the state House of Assembly, commissioners, local government chairmen, top government functionaries and politicians.
The groom’s parents, Oborevwori and his wife, Tobore, and parents of the bride were visibly elated as they received guests and exchanged pleasantries with guests.
The atmosphere was lively, with the performance of Port Harcourt-based musician, Duncan Mighty, who thrilled guests with his popular songs.
Guests prayed for the newly married couple, wishing them a fruitful union, peace and enduring happiness in their journey together.
