Amaechi: I Am Still In ADC, No One Has Offered Me VP Ticket

Published:

FORMER minister of Transportation and a presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chibuike Amaechi, has disclosed that he remained in the party, despite his criticism of its primary election process and outcome.
In his chat with media entrepreneur, Chude Jideonwo (#WithChude) after the primary, and as he marked his 61st birthday, the former governor of Rivers State also disclosed that no one had offered him the vice presidential ticket, contrary to speculations following the visit to his Abuja residence by the party’s presidential candidate and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.
Amaechi insisted: “I stand by what I said about ‘concocted results. But I am still a member of ADC. No one has asked me to be VP.”
He also spoke on state of Nigerian politics, his views on Atiku, Peter Obi, David Mark, Nyesom Wike and former President, Goodluck Jonathan, as well as his personal values, marriage, betrayal, friendship with Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, and why he considers Olusegun Obasanjo as Nigeria’s greatest leader, despite what he described as a “messiah complex.”
Amaechi disclosed that he had actually resigned from the Muhammadu Buhari administration before the end of its tenure, admitting that Buhari eventually became “overwhelmed” by the weight of leadership.
He also defended his political record, insisting he is different from politicians driven only by personal gain, adding: “People say politicians lie, but I don’t lie. My record speaks for me.”
