THE Publishers of Ndokwa Reporters and The Brief, has announced Thursday, July 30, as date for the second edition of its Bel Dialogue.
The event holds at David’s Event Centre, Anwai Road, Asaba, from 11a.m, with the theme, ‘Democracy That Works: Bridging the Gap Between Votes, Results and Institutional Accountability.”
The flagship public policy engagement platform, to be chaired by a former Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mike Igini, focuses on need to strengthen democratic institutions, promote accountable governance and restore public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral and governance processes.
Bel Dialogue is a yearly non-partisan public engagement initiative of Bel Media Consult Limited, established to promote informed conversations on governance, public policy, leadership and national development.
It provides an opportunity for policymakers, professionals, civil society actors, academics, traditional institutions, the media and citizens to interrogate critical national issues and collectively advance practical solutions.
According to the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Paul O. Enebeli, and Secretary of the Board/ Executive Director of Bel Dialogue, Emmanuel Enebeli, the choice of Igini reflects the organisers’ commitment to excellence, credibility and the promotion of democratic values, considering his distinguished record in electoral administration, constitutional democracy and institutional accountability.
