SODEINDE Olajuwon Philip, 22, a former security guard and prime suspect in the gruesome murder of retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Olakitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, has allegedly confessed to the crime, saying it was intended to teach her a lesson over grievance in his former employment.
Phillip and three others were recently arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command in the course of investigation into the killing of Oyesiku and Adetayo, who were found dead at Oyesiku’s residence in the Owode-Egba area of the state on June 21.
Her Lexus RX 330 SUV was missing from the premises after the incident, raising suspicions of robbery and homicide.
The state Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni,

He said acting on intelligence gathered during the probe, detectives arrested Philip, a former security guard to the deceased, at a construction site in Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, on June 24, where he had been working as a labourer.
The suspect’s confession, he explained, led to the arrest of two alleged accomplices, Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, a security guard, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36, a bricklayer.
Ojajuni added that Philip confessed to masterminding the attack over grievances linked to his previous employment with the late broadcaster.
He said investigation revealled that the suspects first subdued and killed Adetayo before forcing their way into Oyesiku’s apartment, where they allegedly murdered her.
The Police, he noted, also recovered several items believed to have been used in the attack, including a broken hammer, a cutlass, a wooden plank and a black pen.
Ojajuni assured that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
